The production process of large-diameter straight seam welded pipes is simple and the production efficiency is high. However, the strength of large-diameter spiral welded pipes is generally higher than that of straight seam welded pipes. They can produce welded pipes with larger diameters using narrower billets, and can also produce welded pipes and frame pipes with different diameters using billets of the same width. However, the production efficiency is lower compared to straight seam steel pipes. Large caliber welded pipes are mainly used in large-scale pipeline engineering, water and gas transmission engineering, urban pipeline construction, municipal engineering, water supply and drainage engineering, large building steel structures, pile foundations, and other fields.

Straight seam welded pipe is a type of pipe made by welding hot-rolled or cold-rolled steel plates or strips onto welding equipment, and is called a straight seam welded pipe. (Named after the straight line formed by the welding of steel pipes).

Spiral welded pipe: It is made by rolling low-carbon carbon structural steel or low-alloy structural steel strip into a pipe blank at a certain angle of the spiral line (called the forming angle), and then welding the pipe seam together. It can produce large-diameter steel pipes with narrower strip steel. The specifications are expressed as outer diameter * wall thickness, and the welded pipe should ensure that the hydrostatic test, tensile strength, and cold bending performance of the weld meet the requirements.
